Snaile Lockers Earns ISO-27001 Certification for Information Security

Snaile Lockers Earns ISO-27001 Certification

Snaile, Canada’s Parcel Locker Company, is delighted to announced that it is now ISO-27001 certified.

“We recognize the importance of healthy cybersecurity and privacy management practices and are committed to delivering best-in-class security services,” says André Brown, Chief Technology Officer, Snaile Canada. “By adopting a compliance framework based on industry-recognized standards and cybersecurity management models, Snaile clients can feel confident that their information is protected.”

The ISO-27001 certification is an international standard that provides a process-based approach to implementing Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational data.

Certification is only granted after a lengthy external audit that reviews organizational practices, policies, and procedures. Once certified, a certification body conducts an annual assessment to monitor ongoing compliance.

As a Canadian leader in the manufacturing of fully-integrated smart parcel locker systems, Snaile serves organizations across a wide variety of industries including multi-residential properties, school campuses, pharmacies, and retail outlets.

“We understand that our clients trust us with sensitive information, including personal information, and we take our responsibility to protect that data seriously,” says Brown.

Information security has been part of Snaile’s DNA since the very beginning. Unlike many smart locker providers, Snaile owns, develops, hosts, and maintains the software and hardware tied to its parcel delivery program. “This means that we have end-to-end control over the safety and security of our products and services, as well as the ability to provide security assurance at every touchpoint,” Brown says.

Why cybersecurity matters

Cybersecurity is a growing concern for Canadian organizations of all sizes. The National Cyber Threat Assessment 2020 identified cybercrime as the “threat that is most likely to affect Canadians and Canadian organizations.”

In a survey conducted by VMWare Inc., 100% of the Canadian CIOs, CTOs, and CISOs interviewed said their business had suffered at least one security breach in the previous 12 months.

Not only is the theft of sensitive data expensive – with Canadian businesses paying an average of $400,000 towards ransomware attacks in 2020 – having to inform people that their information is now potentially available for identity theft, fraud, and other malicious activities can cause lasting damage to an organization’s reputation.

“Snaile’s approach to security and privacy has always been proactive, comprehensive, and transparent,” says Brown. With the new ISO-27001 certification, clients can feel confident that Snaile remains fully-committed to keeping their information safe. “Whether it is ensuring the safety of customer data, providing robust digital lockers, or protecting our employees’ personal information, trust is at the core of everything we do.”
